We are so excited to have you all join us to celebrate our wedding in this amazing beach town. We know many of you will be here for an extended stay, so we have put together a guide for great things to do around town.

Fort Lauderdale has 60 distinct neighborhoods that encompass the city – for the wedding weekend we will be in 3 main areas.  There are a ton of amazing places to go and things to do in town, but we limited suggestions to only these areas.

DOWNTOWN FORT LAUDERDALE – Centered around Las Olas and the surrounding area.

FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH – The strip that runs along A1A (Ocean Blvd) from Sunrise to Las Olas, which the W Hotel is at the center.

WILTON MANORS- About 10-15 minutes away from the W Hotel, this is where we live.

DOWNTOWN & THE BEACH

WHAT TO DO

LAS OLAS BOULEVARD – The go-to spot in Fort Lauderdale for shopping, galleries and fabulous restaurants and sidewalk cafes.  Enjoy a stroll down the palm tree lined streets.

When Las Olas ends at Andrews Ave, pop over a block to the intersection of SW 2nd Street and SW 2nd Avenue, known as HIMMARSHEE VILLAGE which is packed full of bars, restaurants and night clubs.

W HOTEL BEACH – Fort Lauderdale beach runs for 23 miles and the W Hotel is at the center of the action. No need to travel any further then out the front door.

SEBASTIAN STREET BEACH –A quick 3-4 minute walk from the hotel, Sebastian Beach is the place to go for all the boys.  Just walk south to Sebastian Street (all the Fort Lauderdale beaches are named for the street they intersect).

BONNET HOUSE MUSEUM – If you are looking for a little history, Bonnet House is a great place to tour. It’s the only remaining original estate remaining on the beach from when the city was developed in the 1920s. It’s just a few blocks from the hotel.

HUGH TAYLOR BIRCH PARK- Up the street from the hotel, the park is a huge oasis full of activities. Rent a kayak or go for a nature walk. There is also a great restaurant/bar in the park.

WILTON DRIVE – About a 10-15 minute Uber away, Wilton Drive is the heart of the gayborhood, Wilton Manors. It is packed full of restaurants, clubs and has more gay bars then Hell’s Kitchen.

WHERE TO EAT

BIG CITY TAVERN – A staple of Las Olas. Rustic, American food & craft beer. Sit outside and people watch.

CASABLANCA – Our favorite restaurant on Fort Lauderdale beach, especially for lunch. Sit outside on the beautiful patio of a historic home and look at the ocean. Don’t miss!

LOUIE BOSSI- Amazing specialty Italian on Las Olas. Sit outside in the back garden and have some pizza, pasta and wine.

ROCCO’S TACOS- Fun, hip and always crowded Las Olas favorite for Mexican.

PUBLIC HOUSE OR BULL MARKET – Sports bar/gastropubs in Himarshee Village.

SWEET NECTAR – Tapas outside on a huge patio on Las Olas.

RIVERSIDE MARKET – It’s in the middle of nowhere but it has hundreds of beers in self serve coolers and unbelievable pizza in a very chill hangout which makes it worth the drive.

YOLO – Break out the Louboutins for one of the trendiest restaurants on Las Olas.

S3 – In the Hilton right next to the W Hotel, this is a top tier restaurant – amazing food, shared plates, etc. Bit pricy but well worth it.

PARK & OCEAN – Located actually inside of Hugh Taylor Birch Park, it’s a beach side bar/restaurant that’s really cool.

BOKAMPERS SPORTS BAR – 10 minutes up the beach, a very cool indoor/outdoor sports bar that’s on the intercoastal. Sit outside and watch the boats.
